Colgate Lake Trail Hike

Colgate Lake Trail. 5 miles.  This is an out and back hike along a level (more or less) trail with views of the Blackhead Mt. range.  If conditions permit, bring skis or snowshoes.  Please meet at 10:00 a.m. at the second parking lot opposite Colgate Lake, on County Rd. 78, East Jewett.

Deer Mt. Inn lean-tos Hike

Deer Mt. Inn lean-tos.  3 miles.  The gracious hosts of the Deer Mt. Inn welcome our hikers to an easy hike to two lean-tos with views of Tannersville and Colgate Lake.  Please meet at 10:00 a.m. at the parking lot closest to the cottages at the Deer Mt. Inn, 790 County Rd. 25, Tannersville.   Carpooling is encouraged.

Huckleberry Point Hike

Huckleberry Point. 5 miles.  This is an out and back hike with views of the Platte Clove gorge and Hudson Valley.   It is considered easy to moderate; there are steep hills and the trail is well worn.  Please meet at 10:00 a.m. at the Huckleberry Point trailhead parking lot, directly off Platte Clove Rd., Elka Park.

Learn about Wendy’s loving and sometimes laugh-out-loud restoration of one of Elka Park Community’s historic Victorian houses. A portion of proceeds of books sold will go toward PCNC’s own rebuild of our community church building. A follow-up event in the Spring will feature a tour of the home featured in the book!

Overlook Mt. to Echo Lake Hike

Overlook Mt. to Echo Lake.  This hike begins on the Woodstock side of Overlook Mt. 8 miles.  It is an out and back hike to old ruins, views of the Hudson Valley, and a lakeside lean-to.  It is a moderate hike.  Please meet at 9:00 a.m. at the PCNC building to carpool to Mead Mt. Rd. trailhead, Woodstock.

Forage for Wild Mushrooms with Susan Kukle

Take a 2+ hour walk to search for wild (and possibly edible) local mushrooms with a life long naturalist. Bring a paper bag or basket to collect. Rain, or shine we will explore! No dogs please.
